Adriatica.net Group: SIXT RENT-A-CAR FRANCHISE INTEGRATED IN ATLAS d.d. BUSINESS OPERATIONS

In accordance with the franchise provisions and as an adriatica.net Group member, Atlas d.d. Company has decided to take over Sixt’s franchise and assume all of its operations.

Such a business decision aims at consolidating and simplifying business operations and integrating them in Atlas d.d.

All the preliminary works have been undertaken in order to assume the franchise and rent-a-car business operations within the shortest possible period, while keeping the whole of the existing infrastructure, employees, selling points, partners and market.

This will additionally strengthen the financial and personnel aspects of the rent-a-car business, simplify the procurement procedure and pave the way for further growth in the field of long-term leasing.

Despite of its short presence in Croatian market (it started in early 2002 with a motor fleet of less than 100 vehicles), in 2007 it recorded the highest number of rentals and the annual revenue of over HRK 50 million. In the process, it has formed the largest motor fleet of over 1,200 vehicles in the peak season, its aggregate value reaching around HRK 200 million. Today, SIXT is the number one rent-a-car company in Croatia, with a market share of over 30 percent. It has 13 offices in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

SIXT is strategic partner, or exclusive or preferred partner to a large number of renowned European companies such as Lufthansa, Hilton, Starwood, Shell, E-on, Siemens, Bosch, Roland Berger…

In Croatia, SIXT is cooperating with some of the leading companies in the market, such as Hrvatski Telekom, Dukat, Zagrebačka Banka, Lidl, Kaufland, HAK, Saipem, Jadranski Luksuzni Hoteli, OMV, Strabag, Dalmacijacement, Avaya and many others.

Based on its plans and growth potential, it is anticipated that SIXT’s market share will reach approx. 50 percent in the next five years, with a fleet of over 2,500 vehicles.

adriatica.net Group has evolved from www.adriatica.net online tourist agency founded in 2000 by the Group’s CEO Marko Vojković. The first major expansion occurred in 2004, when the Group took over Atlas Airtours, one of the first tour operators in Croatia. The expansion continued in 2005, when the Group entered German, Dutch and Slovenian markets by taking over ID Riva Tours GmbH, Odisej, Ilirika Turizem and Adriagate companies. A further step forward was made in 2006, when ATLAS Travel Agency and Kompas d.d., with shares in over 26 markets, became parts of adriatica.net Group. The leading Serbian tour operator Jolly Travel and Sixt’s rent-a-car franchise in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina joined adriatica.net Group in 2007. The Group has potentials for further expansion, because it keeps identifying opportunities for growth in numerous segments.

Nordic days 2007

Nordic Days in Croatia are a unique concept - a sector-specific event where companies meet, exchange ideas and make business. The idea was created in 2004 by the Embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden to promote Nordic and Croatian companies from a specific field of business. Since then, Nordic Days in Croatia have become a regular meeting place and a platform for strengthening the Nordic - Croatian business relations, supported by the Nordic Chamber of Commerce in Croatia.

Nordic Days in Croatia 2007 - Innovation & Design brings together modern and dynamic companies from the Nordic countries, Croatia and the region of south east Europe. During two days of the event, the companies will engage in pre-arranged B2B meeting, present seminars and lectures and participate in a wide range of activities including the media, officials and the general public. Companies can expect to meet potential buyers, distributors, suppliers and partners in a high-paced, custom-made meeting program, created to maximize the business benefits of participation.

This year's topic is innovation and design. These closely connected areas will be presented through advanced technologies and high standards of aesthetics. We believe that the time is right to introduce the Nordic countries as world leaders in innovation and design to Croatia and the region, as a positive benchmark and inspiration. Croatia will get a unique opportunity to present its accomplishments in fields such as digitalization of payments, and other areas where Croatian companies are in the forefront.

adriatica.net Group took part in this project, as one of the exhibitors, and presented its offer to visitors and business partners.
