Atlas starts a regional tourist development programme

Atlas travel agency, member company of adriatica.net, has in the last couple
of days presented a novelty item in its offer, a programme called “In the wine
realm of Baranja and Srijem”. The uniqueness of this programme lies in the
fact that it is the first of a number of programmes whose aim is to inspire
and advance the development of domestic regional tourism.

Beside the said programme, a few other group programmes are being prepared,
set also in continental Croatia. These rely on eno-gastro (food and wine),
ethnological and archaeological offer and will be marketed this autumn.

The “In the wine realm of Baranja and Srijem” programme discovers all of the
beauties and benefits of the easternmost part of Croatia – the magnificent
wine realm. This programme will in a very short time show its participants all
of the hidden charms of eastern Croatia and in the course of three days let
them discover the magnificence of Vukovar, Ilok, Kneževi vineyards, Karanac
ethno-village or Ilok wine cellars, which produce nearly 4,5 million litres of
wine and were founded between the 15th and 18th century. It is little known
that Ilok wine cellars delivered no less than 11 000 bottles of their finest
wine for the coronation of British Queen Elisabeth II.

New Board of Directors appointed for Atlas

The appointment of tripartite Board of Atlas d.d. is a logical step towards
the integration of operative procedures within Atlas d.d. on the domestic
market. This move signifies the realisation of one of the more important
elements of the agreed strategy whose goal is to position Atlas as the main
exponent of adriatica.net Group’s business in Croatia.

According to the decision brought today by Atlas’ Supervisory Board, Tomislav
Popović has been appointed Board President of Atlas d.d. Mr Popović
is a tourism expert who was until now the director of Tourist Board of Istrian
Region. He built his years-long experience in tourism as Executive Director at
Win-Win (management services in hospitality), Executive Operations Director
for the Poreč region for Valamar Company and hotel manager at Hotel Kristal in
Umag. At the beginning of his impressive career he also worked as junior
researcher at the Zagreb Faculty of Tourism.

Vlado Lučić is new Board member in charge of the incoming
department. It is interesting that his 35-years long career started right here
in Atlas, where he gained experience in various business sectors and
positions, such as assistant manager in the operations centre, branch office
manager, manager of hotels department, while in 2001 he was appointed the
member of executive management of the company. After he left Atlas he became
director and co-owner of Adriastar Hotels and Resorts. Well-known for his
support of international cooperation and development of global tourism, he
performed the duty of vice-president of UHPA and today still actively takes
part in a number of international trade organisations. He has been the
president of ASTA’s (American Society of Travel Agents) Croatian branch for
years now, as well as vice-president of SKAL Club Dubrovnik within SKAL
INTERNATIONAL (International Association of Travel and Tourism Professionals)
and member of WTTC (World Travel & Tourism Council).

The new Board member in charge of the outgoing department and strategic
development of online sales for Adriatica.net Group, Tomislav Vintar,
is joining Atlas from the position of Board President of Znanje. His work
experience includes time at Jupiter Asset Management, where he was responsible
for establishing and managing the Mortgage Loans Institution (a financial
credit institution), a project involving building of luxury tourist resorts
and in FINA (Croatian Financial Agency), in the role of Board member in charge
of the commercial market and business development. He co-authored the Croatian
government’s projects HITRO.HR and HITROREZ. Between 2001 and 2006 he held the
positions of Assembly President and Supervisory Board member at Jadran Kapital
investment fund, director at J.E. Austin Associates Inc. and Network Design &
NPI Manager at Ericsson Nikola Tesla.

Details of recapitalisation of adriatica.net Group

A meeting of shareholders of adriatica.net Group was held this week, marking
the completion of the first round of the recapitalization of the biggest tour
operator in the region.

Thereby the presuppositions for the realisation of goals which the group’s
Board has presented to new owners-investors through the five-year business
plan have been fulfilled: refinancing of debt with key partner banks,
rationalisation of business procedures and new group organisation,
establishment of stable relationships with all partners in the tourist sector,
and finally, as a foundation for the future stability of the Group,
acquirement of fresh capital for the first round of the recapitalisation.
Considering the strength, business profile and structure of the shareholders
that in different manners maintain their business ties with the tourist sector
of the Republic of Croatia, this primary business objective has been achieved.

The meeting was attended by the new co-owners of adriatica.net Group, which
have effected a recapitalisation in the amount of € 29 million, whereby the
erstwhile ownership structure of the company has been altered. The new
ownership structure comprises 8 subjects belonging to the private sector and
one state-owned company. After the first phase of the recapitalisation process
was successfully finalised, the old co-owners of adriatica.net Group,
companies EPH and Emporion, will keep 1% of the owner’s shares each, while the
remainder of the shares will be distributed as follows:

Agrokor 20,27%,
AWT 16,9%,
Croatia osiguranje 16,9%,
Slobodna Dalmacija 16,9%,
HUP Zagreb 10,13%,
Jolly 8,45%
Saponia 8,45%.

All investments in the recapitalisation of adriatica.net Group were effected
in cash, except for the investment of Croatia Osiguranje, whose investment
consists of property and debt write-off.

The new owners will make a decision on the possibility of new investors
joining this important Croatian business project in the second round of the
recapitalisation, scheduled for 2010.

Adriatica.net's internet survey yields surprising results

The internet survey made through the www.adriatica.net web site has lead to
some quite interesting conclusions. The research has thus shown that Croatian
customers are somewhat less inclined to pay for their reservations by credit
card than previously thought. As for the choice of destination, the main
criterion for Italians is the price.

Greece and Croatia are clear favourites when it comes to Mediterranean
destinations, especially among Croatians and Slovenians; the second place
belongs to Tunisia, while Spain and Turkey are well below the average.

Slovaks prefer their holidays away from the coast, while it is also not
surprising that 75% of Spaniards choose the same – the rhythm of the Spanish
tourists is a witness to the fact.

Most participants cited the Adriatic as the place where they will spend their
holidays, which is unsurprising, given that adriatica.net at this time of year
normally attracts customers interested in this region. In addition, the
biggest number of new visitors has been recorded from Spain, France, Poland
and Slovakia, while the returning customers mainly come from the German market.

As mentioned above, Croatians rarely choose credit cards as their method of
payment, contrary to the common belief – a meagre 2 % in total. Credit cards
are favourites among Italians and Germans (15 %).

Germans are also among those who take 2-week vacations the most (63 %), while
a high percentage is recorded among Poles and Czechs (50 %). It is interesting
to note that Hungarians rather choose a 7-day holiday (55 %), and 20 % of them
spend less than a week on vacation. Similar figures apply for the Italian and
Slovenian market, which affirms the trend of shorter holidays.

Vacation and relaxation are the strongest reasons for going on a holiday for
almost all participants. The Spaniards are, naturally, again faithful to
themselves so getting to know the local culture is strongest reason for
travelling only for them. Interestingly, 38 % of Italians also cite the same
reason.

Unior Ltd recognised in adriatica.net Group a strong and reliable strategic
partner for sale of accommodation capacities and holiday packages, which also

Considering all different types of sales channels, as well as the wide range
of regular and new guests and passengers, adriatica.net Group and Unior Ltd
will with this contract, i.e. business cooperation, achieve results to the
benefit of both sides, but also all users and clients of adriatica.net Group.

process, it has formed the largest motor fleet of over 1,200 vehicles in the
peak season, its aggregate value reaching around HRK 200 million. Today, SIXT

Based on its plans and growth potential, it is anticipated that SIXT’s market
share will reach approx. 50 percent in the next five years, with a fleet of

Nordic days 2007

Nordic Days in Croatia are a unique concept - a sector-specific event where companies meet, exchange ideas and make business. The idea was created in 2004 by the Embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden to promote Nordic and Croatian companies from a specific field of business. Since then, Nordic Days in Croatia have become a regular meeting place and a platform for strengthening the Nordic - Croatian business relations, supported by the Nordic Chamber of Commerce in Croatia.

Nordic Days in Croatia 2007 - Innovation & Design brings together modern and dynamic companies from the Nordic countries, Croatia and the region of south east Europe. During two days of the event, the companies will engage in pre-arranged B2B meeting, present seminars and lectures and participate in a wide range of activities including the media, officials and the general public. Companies can expect to meet potential buyers, distributors, suppliers and partners in a high-paced, custom-made meeting program, created to maximize the business benefits of participation.

This year's topic is innovation and design. These closely connected areas will be presented through advanced technologies and high standards of aesthetics. We believe that the time is right to introduce the Nordic countries as world leaders in innovation and design to Croatia and the region, as a positive benchmark and inspiration. Croatia will get a unique opportunity to present its accomplishments in fields such as digitalization of payments, and other areas where Croatian companies are in the forefront.
