Atlas starts a regional tourist development programme 20. 07. 2010.
The regional tourist development programme will be based on the development of products specific to each region, with the emphasis on uniqueness and attractiveness of the local offer that can be of interest to international and domestic guests. The first programme, called “In the wine realm of Baranja and Srijem”, had its premiere in the last couple of days.
Atlas travel agency, member company of adriatica.net, has in the last couple of days presented a novelty item in its offer, a programme called “In the wine realm of Baranja and Srijem”. The uniqueness of this programme lies in the fact that it is the first of a number of programmes whose aim is to inspire and advance the development of domestic regional tourism.
Beside the said programme, a few other group programmes are being prepared, set also in continental Croatia. These rely on eno-gastro (food and wine), ethnological and archaeological offer and will be marketed this autumn.
The “In the wine realm of Baranja and Srijem” programme discovers all of the beauties and benefits of the easternmost part of Croatia – the magnificent wine realm. This programme will in a very short time show its participants all of the hidden charms of eastern Croatia and in the course of three days let them discover the magnificence of Vukovar, Ilok, Kneževi vineyards, Karanac ethno-village or Ilok wine cellars, which produce nearly 4,5 million litres of wine and were founded between the 15th and 18th century. It is little known that Ilok wine cellars delivered no less than 11 000 bottles of their finest wine for the coronation of British Queen Elisabeth II.
adriatica.net Group developed from the www.adriatica.net online travel agency. First major enlargement happened in 2004, when the agency took over Atlas Airtours, one of the first tour operators in Croatia.
The expansion continued in 2005, when the company entered German, Dutch and Slovenian markets by taking over ID Riva Tours Gmbh, Odisej and Ilirika Turizem travel agencies. A further step towards enlargement of the Group had been made in 2006, when ATLAS Travel Agency and Kompas JSC, present at more than 26 markets, became members of adriatica.net Group.
Jolly Travel, Serbia’s leading tour operator, joined the Group in 2007.
