Atlas Dubrovnik new member of adriatica.net Group 29. 11. 2006.

Today, on the 29th of November 2006 adriatica.net held a press conference regarding the takeover of Atlas tourist agency from Dubrovnik.

On the 17th of November 2006 a contract was concluded between Sutivan Investments Anstalt from Lichtenstein in ownership of Lukšiæ group and adriatica.net from Zagreb, by which adriatica.net became the largest shareholder with 75,17% of shares.

Both parties emphasize that the future lies in the traveling agencies branch. There was a significant synergetic potential perceived in the alliance. Alignment with Atlas Dubrovnik will be important for the realization of goals of adriatica.net group. After a successful acquisition within the tour operator branch – Atlas Air tours, ID Riva, Odisej, creation of retail chain in Croatia named adriatica.net Travel center, consolidation of online agencies adriatica.net and Adriagate, and after merging with Kompas d.d. from Ljubljana as the largest Slovenian tourist company with international network, Atlas Dubrovnik as the largest Croatian DMC company (destination management company) completely rounds the image of adriatica.net group as a potential European trust. "We have affiliated top companies from each segment of tourist business, excellent employees, and we have included the majority of relevant tourist niches in our business. We are proud to call Atlas Dubrovnik our new member which returned to Croatia and which will fill our DMC segment. This was necessary in order for our tourist offer to be complete. It is our wish as the new owner to participate in the life of our business. In other words: Atlas has always belonged to Dubrovnik and it is a part of tourist tradition of the town, which we as a group fully support.

With this acquisition we reached 1.2 million passengers and 340 million € turnover in 2005. Complete data with the end of this business year prediction is expected until 15.12.2006. Until then we will present and update plans for the whole group. The time ahead of us will be very intensive for all group members and we expect maximal engagement from all employees in realizations of adriatica.net group goals, lots of flexibility and high creativity in every way" – says Marko Vojkovic, president of adriatica.net group Management Board.

On the press conference we have presented the new president of Board management of Atlas tourist agency from Dubrovnik, Mihovil Prpiæ. Prpiæ was born and educated in Canada, and gained experience in the largest Canadian companies such as Air Canada and Equifax inc. He worked as Assistant Director in Auto-cesta Rijeka Zagreb company in Croatia, he organized and run sales of T-Mobile for business users and he is the co-founder and the first president of board of telecommunication company Metronet, from where he transfers to adriatica.net group.
